Trend Group Reimagines Its Cape Town Office
Trend Group redesigned its Cape Town head office to create a warm, welcoming environment that supports both staff wellbeing and client engagement. The office combines a modern, Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic with thoughtful design and bespoke details, reflecting Trend Group’s expertise in creating functional, people-focused workspaces.
Designed for a hybrid team, the new office offers a variety of work zones to accommodate different workstyles and temperaments. Open-plan areas support collaboration, semi-private nooks and acoustic call pods allow for focused work, and informal meeting spaces provide opportunities for spontaneous interaction. A spacious canteen doubles as a social hub, while a bespoke sample island allows clients to interact directly with materials and finishes, enhancing the overall client journey from pitch to project sign-off.
Soft finishes, natural textures, and a neutral colour palette of off-whites, creams, and browns create a calm, home-like atmosphere. Warmer tones are retained in transitional areas such as the kitchenette, where tactile backsplashes and carefully curated furniture add texture and visual interest.
Adjustable desks, flexible seating, and smart technology – including electrically operated blinds and iPad-enabled boardroom bookings – ensure comfort, flexibility, and a seamless day-to-day experience. Sustainability was also considered through the reuse of materials, indoor plants to improve air quality, and sourcing products locally.
The result is a contemporary, people-first office that blends functional workspace with subtle showroom elements, creating an engaging environment for staff and clients alike. This project highlights Trend Group’s holistic approach to office design and build, showcasing their capabilities in delivering spaces that balance aesthetics, functionality, and wellbeing.
