Confidential Airline Offices – Hangzhou
UFOU’s design for a confidential airline company’s offices in Hangzhou elegantly fuse aeronautical elements with an airy atrium and a strategic color palette, crafting a vibrant, adaptable workspace that embodies the airline’s identity.
The headquarters office of this airline precisely injects the company’s aeronautical DNA into the spatial structure through a distinctive architectural language. The horizontal matrix of window grids lining the exterior walls cleverly mimics the visual effect of an airplane’s windows, seamlessly integrating the corporation’s core symbol into the daily work environment and fostering a deeper sense of identity.
The central, towering, atrium vertically draws natural light deep into the building through a large glass skylight. The space is filled with bright, clear light. A striking blue sofa serves as a visual focal point and a comfortable option for brief conversations among staff or visitors.
In most areas, the majority of the space features an exposed, dark gray industrial ceiling, preserving the texture of pipes and structural beams. This visually expands the ceiling height and imparts an industrial aesthetic to the space. The dark gray ceiling also provides a sharp contrast to the brighter zones below.
The main structure of the space utilizes pure white walls, a minimalist approach that provides a canvas for vibrant accent colors. The client carefully selected different color themes to act as a tool for functional navigation and emotional guidance:
•Blue tones symbolize calmness and rationality. The highly recognizable NBOX sofas, with their tranquil blue color, encourage more organized and profound thinking.
•Orange-red is defined as vitality and excitement. You can see orange in elements like the Pitstop acoustic phone booths and the workstation screens, which effectively stimulate employees’ positive emotions.
•Green represents tranquility and nature. The Torii tables in this area are noticeably higher than traditional workstations; this slightly elevated posture allows people to enter a more relaxed, informal state.
This ingenious deployment of color not only significantly enhances visual delight but also precisely delineates functional zones through the language of color; utilizing efficient and flexible furniture configurations to enhance spatial adaptability, successfully creating an ideal workplace that is both professional and engaging.
