St. Louis-based Arcturis’ comprehensive redesign of national accounting firm Armanino’s Creve Coeur, Missouri workplace represents a thoughtful evolution of a long-standing regional office into a flexible, people-centered environment. The 40,000-square-foot renovation spans two full floors, consolidating what was previously three floors into a more efficient and intentional footprint. Guided by Armanino’s forward-thinking Future of Work strategy, the project prioritizes adaptability, collaboration, and employee well-being, transforming what was once a largely vacant, disconnected office into a dynamic, welcoming, and light-filled workplace.

    Design Approach
Arcturis’ redesign emphasizes openness, flexibility, and access to natural light, capitalizing on the office’s elevated position and 360-degree views of St. Louis County’s surrounding foliage. Large, enclosed offices and solid partitions were removed in favor of a greater number of smaller, flexible offices, glass-fronted meeting rooms, and varied collaborative environments, increasing overall seat count while reducing floor area by 20,000 SF. Perimeter zones were intentionally reserved for shared spaces, allowing daylight and views to be experienced by all, while internal offices maintain transparency and connection.

The upper floor functions as a welcoming client-facing “landing floor,” where visitors step off the elevator into a light-filled reception area anchored by expansive views. This level is organized around a hospitality-driven zone containing spaces for gathering, collaboration, breakout sessions, and an upscale work café designed to support everything from informal collaboration to large client gatherings and firm-wide events. More private employee-only zones are subtly separated to accommodate confidential work.

    Interior Design
Armanino’s interiors blend professional clarity with warmth and comfort, drawing inspiration from residential and hospitality settings. A muted interpretation of the firm’s brand colors–olive greens and soft rust tones–appears throughout the space alongside layered textures, warm wood finishes, and thoughtfully selected lighting, including custom fixtures designed in-house by Arcturis. Accessories, soft furnishings, and architectural niches create a range of settings that echo the familiarity of cafés and living rooms while maintaining a polished professional identity. Finishes and color cues also serve as intuitive wayfinding, helping users navigate the space with ease.

    Sustainability & Flexibility
A fully demountable wall system was employed throughout the office, providing a highly sustainable and adaptable solution. The pre-manufactured system allows walls to be moved, reused, or reconfigured as needs evolve, reducing construction time, material waste, and long-term costs. This approach supports future flexibility while maintaining a high level of finish and acoustic performance.
