SPACEBASE’s PURGO offices in Seongnam skillfully intertwine the essence of nature and innovation, creating a healing ‘Medical Forest’ where technology and ecological warmth enhance collaboration and redefine regenerative medicine.
The Purple Seed: Cultivating a Forest of Innovation
The new office of Purgo Biologics is built upon the brand’s signature color, ‘Wine,’ which represents the profound mystery of life. The design unfolds a spatial narrative where a single ‘Purple Seed’—symbolizing the researcher’s sincerity—blooms into a lush ‘Medical Forest’ that heals humanity.
This purple vitality, signifying the wonder of life’s birth, is infused throughout the space to reinforce the corporate identity. Metal elements symbolize an advanced future and innovative technology, while wood textures represent the permanence of life. Together, they materialize the value of ‘Sustainable Science,’ where technology and ecology coexist in harmony.
The ‘Hands-on Zone’ at the entrance serves as the first impression—the point where the life energy of the purple seed is manifested through technology. It is an experiential showroom and a communicative forum where visitors and medical professionals can directly interact with proprietary products. This area is organically connected to the lounge and seminar rooms, acting as a hub that radiates the brand philosophy throughout the entire office.
The Seminar Room features a tiered structure, ensuring that the researcher’s demonstration on the podium is clearly visible from every seat. It provides a professional educational environment where up to 30 participants can engage in simultaneous hands-on practice. Furthermore, meeting rooms adjacent to the exterior are designed in green to reflect the concept of a ‘Lush Medical Forest.’ These spaces visually connect with the outdoor greenery, providing a refreshing sense of recovery.
To harmonize the contrasting tones of ‘Wine’ and ‘Teal’ within a single environment, the designers meticulously adjusted the saturation and proportions of each color, balancing visual tension with harmony. This coordinated public area meets the quiet office zone—separated by a private entrance for deep focus—completing the functional layout of the workplace.
Much like a small seed growing into a forest, this space harmonizes innovative technology with a warm sensibility. It serves as a collaborative platform where medical professionals from around the globe share knowledge and redefine the standards of regenerative medicine. Beyond a mere office, it functions as a Global Workplace fostering daily innovations that reach across borders to impact lives worldwide.
