  • The renovation of AstraZeneca’s Buenos Aires headquarters was conceived as a strategic transformation aimed at aligning the local workspace with the company’s global standards while reinforcing its contemporary brand identity. Located in the DOT Building, the 1,613 sqm office was redesigned to foster flexibility, inclusion, and employee wellbeing within a cohesive and future-oriented environment.

The design strategy focused on creating a balanced ecosystem of collaborative and focused spaces. The floor plate is organized into two clearly defined sectors. In the curved portion, an open-plan operational area positions workstations along the perimeter to maximize natural light and exterior views. This configuration enhances visual openness while supporting daily productivity. The central zone integrates informal meeting areas, phone booths, and open collaborative settings that promote interaction and spontaneous exchange.

The linear sector accommodates enclosed offices, formal meeting rooms, a training area, and the dining space, ensuring privacy and functional clarity where required. This spatial arrangement allows for fluid circulation and intuitive navigation throughout the office.

A key feature of the project is the Town Hall—an 80-person capacity space with tiered seating and integrated audiovisual systems—designed to host company-wide meetings, workshops, and training sessions. Complementing this are lounge areas, coffee points, and quiet zones designed to support neurodiversity and offer alternative work settings.

Materiality reinforces the project’s identity. A neutral palette of gray tones in flooring and carpeting is paired with white and wood finishes to create a refined yet warm atmosphere. Strategic textile accents in AstraZeneca’s brand colors introduce vibrancy without overwhelming the space. Acoustic comfort, access to natural light, and spatial clarity were prioritized throughout the design process.

The resulting workplace reflects AstraZeneca’s global vision while responding to local context—an adaptable, people-centered environment that integrates wellbeing, innovation, and functionality into a cohesive design narrative.
