The Commons Richmond Coworking Space – Melbourne
DesignOffice’s The Commons Richmond in Melbourne harmoniously merges premium coworking spaces with a state-of-the-art health club, fostering an environment where work and wellness coexist for a dynamic community.
The Commons, Australia’s leading coworking space provider, has unveiled a first look inside The Commons Richmond, an Australian first that combines premium workspaces with a state-of-the-art health club under one roof. Now open at 33 Cremorne Street, the 5,000sqm address marks the first time The Commons has fully integrated a health club into its core offering, creating an environment where work and wellness coexist.
Designed in collaboration with Design Office, the expansive space accommodates up to 400 workspace members, with half the floorplate dedicated to contemporary offices for entrepreneurs, startups and creatives. Members enjoy 24/7 access to the Health Club’s gym floor, exclusive pay-as-you-go group classes and bath house visits, and an on-site cafe, reinforcing a model where wellbeing is embedded into the rhythm of the working day.
Richmond, long defined by its industrial heritage, is now celebrated as one of Melbourne’s most dynamic and creative entrepreneurial suburbs. The new site is positioned moments from Swan Street’s cafes and restaurants and is seamlessly connected to Melbourne’s public transport network. With The Commons Cremorne and South Yarra nearby, members benefit from greater flexibility and opportunities to connect across the wider Commons community.
Inside the workspace, members find a considered mix of private offices, collaborative open desks, seven meeting rooms and floor-to-ceiling windows drawing natural light deep into the interior. At its centre, a games room provides an informal counterpoint to the working day, featuring shuffleboard and table tennis. This space anchors the social hub, connected to the communal kitchen, open work lounge and flexible workshop room, encouraging moments of interaction alongside focused work.
The Commons Richmond represents the next step in The Commons’ nine-year journey of shaping community-focused, amenity-rich spaces. More than a workplace, it is a lifestyle destination designed to enhance the everyday lives of its members.
The Commons’ footprint has grown to 19 locations across Melbourne and Sydney, cementing its position as Australia’s most innovative coworking provider. The Commons’ 19th location, Toorak Road South Yarra, opened its workspace on 23 February 2026, with an integrated Health Club following in March.
