STG Design’s Mark-Taylor Headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona, masterfully blend tradition with modernity, using warm materials and thoughtful detailing to create a flexible workspace that fosters connection and forward-thinking.
“Forging the Path Forward” respects the past, embraces the present, and looks ahead. It tells the Mark-Taylor story by using tradition as a starting point—not something to replicate, but something to build from.
Material drives the experience. Wood is the foundation, expressed through ceiling grids, millwork, and furniture. It brings warmth and a sense of consistency across spaces. The detailing is clean and controlled, giving familiar materials a more current read. Patterned flooring adds subtle texture and helps connect spaces as people move through them.
That warmth is balanced with more refined elements. Glass fronts pull daylight deep into the plan and maintain visual connection between spaces. Dark wall planes and simple architectural framing add contrast, allowing lighter materials—stone, upholstery, and soft finishes—to stand out without overcomplicating the palette. Branding is integrated in a quieter way—through a restrained color palette, curated details, and moments of graphic layering that reinforce identity without overpowering the space. These elements help carry the story through, adding meaning without feeling applied.
The planning supports a range of use. Open lounge areas and café spaces create opportunities for informal interaction, while enclosed rooms and booth seating provide places to focus. Transitions are intuitive, shaped by ceiling shifts, material changes, and softened openings.
At its core, the space is about experience. It feels comfortable, but elevated. Structured, but flexible. It supports how people connect and work without forcing it.
The result is a workplace that feels familiar but clearly moved forward—rooted in where it started, but designed for what’s next.
