  • Shaped by the landscapes, light, and sensory experiences of Southern California, the relocated and newly designed office channels the dynamic spirit of Los Angeles into a vibrant workplace for architects and designers. The interior is organized around a west‑to‑east color and material narrative inspired by the views from the studio, mirroring the region’s dramatic geographic transition from coastline to skyline. Oceanic blues, sun‑bleached white oak, terrazzo, and natural textures evoke the calm of the Pacific, gradually giving way to bronze metals, back‑painted glass, dichroic hues, and neon accents that capture the intensity of the urban core. This ombré‑like gradient brings a sense of movement and continuity throughout the space.

First impressions reinforce both place and performance. The elevator lobby introduces the journey with gradient yellow wallcoverings, bronze mirror finishes, and metal detailing inspired by California’s golden sunlight. The reception area presents a bold interpretation of the Los Angeles skyline at sunset, anchored by a bronze metal desk in fading tones of gold and yellow, a dark bronze ceiling, and a vibrant yellow velvet banquette.

Throughout the workplace, commissioned artwork draws inspiration from the beaches, cityscapes, and iconic landmarks of Los Angeles. Abstracted compositions reinforce the studio’s connection to place while contributing to a layered and immersive employee experience.

The workplace is designed to support creativity, flexibility, and evolving patterns of collaboration. Open workstation neighborhoods and private offices are interwoven with alternative work settings, phone rooms, and collaborative zones, allowing team members to choose how and where they work throughout the day. Seamless technology supports connection across the studio, from focused desk work to large‑scale presentations and client engagement.

At the heart of the office, the work café serves as a social and creative hub with sweeping views across the floor. Inspired by a Southern California beach club, the space features aqua‑colored tile, terrazzo surfaces, glazed finishes, and light wood floors for a bright, indoor‑outdoor feel. An adjacent lounge and covered terrace extend the studio outside, promoting informal exchange and access to fresh air.

With a vision for systems that perform better, do more, and maintain architectural integrity, Corgan’s dedication to sustainability consistently results in high performing, human centered environments. The firm’s Los Angeles studio in Culver City is no exception: a workplace where environmental context and occupant wellbeing intersect through thoughtful, solution driven design leadership. To independently validate both decarbonization and human health strategies, the project targets the International Living Future Institute’s Zero Carbon (ILFI ZC) certification alongside Fitwel® standards.

Sustainability is embedded throughout the project, from energy‑efficient systems and smart controls to material reuse, reduced finishes, and low‑carbon material selection. Wellness amenities — including enhanced acoustics, dedicated wellness and mothers’ rooms, access to daylight, outdoor patios, and universal accessibility — reinforce Corgan’s commitment to human experience.

Corgan’s Los Angeles studio stands as a model for responsible interiors, proving that what is good for the planet and what is good for people are fundamentally aligned.
