Doruk Insaat Offices – Istanbul
OSO Architecture’s Doruk Insaat Offices in Istanbul skillfully transforms a corner plot into a modern landmark, featuring dynamic façades, strategic sun-shading, and a harmonious blend of materials for enhanced visual.
The office building for Doruk Construction is located in Sancaktepe, Istanbul, featuring a total usable area of 480 sqm across three floors.
The core concept of the project centers on transforming the geometric constraints of a corner plot into a dynamic and modern architectural identity. The most distinctive feature that defines the building’s character is the vertical sun-shading louvers wrapping the upper facade. These panels introduce a visual rhythm through shifting light and shadow plays throughout the day, while enhancing indoor thermal comfort by providing strategic shading.
While the light-colored stone cladding on the ground floor gives the building a solid foundation, the angled cantilever of the upper floor adds dynamism and forms a natural canopy over the entrance area. The design thrives on contrast, pairing the warm texture of the light travertine on the ground level with dark anthracite stone cladding above. Accented with warm copper tones, the deep window jambs stand out sharply against the light and dark stone surfaces, adding depth and identity to the facade. Large glazed surfaces maximize the influx of natural light, and the upper-floor corner balconies provide functional break areas for employees.
With its rational facade architecture and volumetric plasticity, the building establishes its own distinct character. In this regard, its functional and modern design serves as a prestigious benchmark for the surrounding urban context.
