  • Through learnings and opportunities gained by remote work during the COVID-19 Pandemic, Kasian embarked on a firm-wide workplace strategy to gain feedback from staff and leadership on changes to our ways of working and to our culture. With a pending lease renewal at the Calgary office, a pilot was implemented to test the findings with hybrid work scheduling in an Activity Based Work environment roughly half the size of the existing space. The success of this pilot informed the design of our new studio located in The District at Beltline. Our Resilient Workplace Approach, focused on supporting people and the planet, has resulted in a workplace that is targeted to achieve WELL certification and includes numerous sustainability strategies incorporated into the design. Movement and Choice: How we work is changing and our workspace and policies have evolved to support this. The most significant change is the introduction of flexible hybrid work scheduling that enables our staff to do their best work by adopting the work style that is best suited to their individual needs. Activity Based Workplace: Where we work – by providing a variety of settings to support different work styles and activities our studio enables increased productivity, collaboration and social connections. Culture and Community: A place for wellness. The design of the studio is intentionally warm, comfortable, and casual to ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring environment. Connection: Connecting people and place. By choosing to move to the District at Beltline, in addition to the environment we have created within our own studio, we are provided with abundant opportunities to build community and support wellness. Carbon Footprint: Paving the Way to a Carbon-Neutral Future. Our commitment to reduce carbon footprint is reflected in the design of the new studio. Our studio is good for people and the environment.
