  • PENSON designed Google’s new Central Saint Giles Headquarters last year which we’ve posted about a couple times – here and here. Technically here too because the office encompasses the Youtube Creator Space. But today’s posting has a lot of new photos I think are worthwhile in gaining a better understanding of the office as well as just generally being inspired.

And mostly because I can’t get enough of the patterned wallpaper and padded walls.

With this project we transformed 160,000 square foot over five floors into a typically British environment, complete with giant glittering Union Jacks on the walls, mini secret gardens on the rooftop, a 200 seat event room named the “Town Hall”, a granny flat, and allotments where Googlers can get back to their roots and grow their own vegetables.

As well as making the project appealing to the eye with fun private workspaces and a huge selection of quirky furnishings, we also made it appealing to the environment. We removed as many harmful ingredients as possible from our building and decorating materials, used water-based products wherever possible and used a huge amount of reclaimed and recycled materials.
