  • HUM Music is a commercial music house providing original score, music supervision and licensing, and sound design on high-profile campaigns for a multitude of brands, independent films and television. The company has recently outfitted their Santa Monica studio with a private speakeasy and music venue known as the A&R Bar.

We tapped the team behind some of LA’s most iconic bars and restaurants, Kelly Architects (Mozza, Edison Bar, Seven Grand), to create a unique new space that reflects our current company culture which focuses on fluidity, creative collaboration and human connectivity. By day, it serves as a high-end recording studio and creative lab. By night, it houses an intimate private speakeasy and music venue called A&R Bar, with a fully equipped stage for live performances and a full service bar.

It’s equipped to feature a wide range of special events, including cocktail nights with celebrated mixologists, film screenings, art exhibits, dinner parties with rising star chefs, and tasting events from a rotation of top craft breweries. A&R Bar is outfitted with a robust A/V system with multiple HD cameras for live streaming, HD monitors, and a custom live audio and lighting system, providing a modular multi-purpose venue with unlimited possibilities.

So far we’ve hosted concerts by Cayucas, Meiko and Simon Petty, and we have more in the works. And recently the A&R Bar served as a shoot location for Ingress, Google’s augmented reality game.
