Aker Solutions – London Headquarters
Peldon Rose has designed a new headquarters in London for oil solutions company Aker Solutions.
Aker Solutions were looking for a new office that they could expand into and grow ever further as a company. With the help of Peldon Rose, they decided that the second largest building over in Chiswick Park, London would be the ideal headquarters for their company. This design and build project is currently the largest design and build project in Europe!
The aim was to create a world class London HQ within this 212,000 square foot building that completely smashed expectations of what would be conventionally expected from an oil and gas engineering company. This new workspace needed to retain their existing talent, whilst attracting a whole new generation of engineers, encouraging their growth.
Peldon Rose replaced the traditional call-centre style office set-up with angular clusters of adjustable sit-stand desks with the intention of creating a space that allowed their staff to work collaboratively and creatively in a contemporary space.
The designers of Peldon Rose created artwork that mimicked what Aker Solutions do; gas molecules, oil drops, fissures in the earth, platonic plates. To guide people around the building, Peldon Rose used bright colours and totem poles for extreme wayfinding and navigation.
Aker Solutions now have a dedicated Peldon Rose person to deal with any maintenance issues or problems – this means things can stay running smoothly in their huge new cutting edge space.
