  • Adrianse Group has developed a new office for global consulting firm Boston Consulting Group located in Gurgaon, India.

The Boston Consulting Group selected Adrianse Group to design their new office of 50,500 sft located at DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon, India. The design brief was clear at the outset- to design a world class facility that is light and airy, highly collaborative, flexible, scalable, sustainable and one that reflects BCG’s work culture and the way the organization operates. The intent was also to create an intelligent and futuristic workplace using most advanced technology tools available.

The designers strived to create a sense of place by providing a unique character to the workplace that fosters a sense of pride, attachment and identity among the individual users and the workplace community. The office space is arranged as a series of “villages” or “neighborhoods” each with a variety of activity based work settings – cellular and open offices, case team rooms, quiet rooms, enclosed conference rooms and “enclaves” for private meetings. At the heart of the office is a highly collaborative space called the BCG Greens. Shaped like the golf greens, this is the place where employees can take a break, interact and make some golf putts.

The front office consists of a distinctive professional reception area flanked with a series of LCD panels showcasing BCG history on one side and a large back lit  BCG word map on the other, leading employees and visitors to formal and informal lounges and meeting rooms. The cafeteria is heavily used for meetings, recreation as well as eating. And for those employees who want to improve their brainpower and clear their brain inbox, a siesta cum library zone has been provided in a quiet section of the office space.

The diversity of materials used – timber, carpet, woven vinyl, steel, and glass, use of colour, combined with innovative and varied lighting creates a journey of varied experiences throughout the office space expressing heterogeneity and spontaneity.

Sustainability, which is an integral part of BCG’s CSR strategy, was one of the important goals for the project which was accomplished through the use of sustainable materials, energy efficient and sensor based lighting, healthful indoor environment and air quality.
