International Law Firm Offices – Milan
Unispace has designed the new offices of international law firm located in Milan, Italy.
The client – a pioneering international law firm with a rich history that serves companies, governments and financial institutions – wanted to create a modern and elegant looking space coupled with relaxed comfort keeping with the exterior of the building which is an example of Italian rationalist architecture in the historical centre of Milan.
The impressive view of Milan’s Duomo determined the location and arrangement of client-facing areas. Although based on a traditional enclosed office model due to the confidential nature of their business, the new offices ensure a higher degree of collaboration thanks to well-planned adjacencies, transparency of the full height glass partitions and thoughtful distribution of shared and socializing areas across the floorplates.
The design concept supported the company’s corporate image with a rich, modern and welcoming front office. This was achieved by extensive use of American Oak wood flooring, white lacquered joinery, circular lighting donuts hanging over the reception desk, and an impressive steel and glass staircase that was designed to connect the two floors of the office. Simple geometries, white walls and natural materials (glass, steel, wood) extend through to the office areas.
