Financial Services Company – Sydney
FutureSpace has designed the offices of an unnamed investment management company, located in Sydney, Australia.
This workspace is for one of Australia’s most successful investment management companies that emphasises the importance of bringing teams together. Unlike other financial institutions it is designed to have a welcoming feel, akin to a boutique hotel, it is both discreet and professional.
Working with the circular footprint to achieve a cohesive floor plan was paramount to the client being able to maximise the space they had leased and provide the same quality of accommodation for all staff. The design concept references entrepreneurial world explorers and the principles of discovery, journey, mystery and surprise. The client was keen to use the corporate colour throughout; we achieved this by focusing on texture and tone.
Throughout the project there is a blend of rawness and refinement. Exposed ductwork and ceiling services are balanced by warm timber and fabric panelling. The mirrored ceiling in the lift lobby creates height in a low ceiling space and the blade walls and grids sit against curved forms in order for people to orient themselves in the circular floorplate.
There is also contrast in the fluted concrete wall balanced against velvet furniture upholstery; goat hair feature carpet abuts a hard flooring quartz carpet in high traffic areas.
