  • Shirli Zamir Design Studio designed the offices for a confidential electronic component distribution company located in Petah Tikva, Israel.

The project was designed for a company that deals with electronic component distributing in North America and a broad-line distributor of board level components. The visual identity system of the company played a main role in building the design language.

We researched all kinds of electronic forms; each has its own complexity. Following our study, we decided to simplify those components into a system that can integrate with the space users. The intention was to create a system that can be interactive and yet low tech and timeless.

This came to life through a wooden partition adding warmth and coziness to the space. This partition consists of small cassettes which can be rotated manually by the user. We wanted to emphasize that humans are the machine operators by the gesture of creating a dialogue with the space itself. The partition arrays in variable scales, all influencing intimacy level.

Along with the concept, it was important to find the correct materials that will make this place feel home for the people. And so, we designed salons in several places. The floor plan consists of open spaces defined by the wooden partitions. We designed a light fixture that assembles the language of electric circuits for the open space, and in the meeting rooms we combined light stripes with a lamel felt ceiling for a softer look. The company’s product and their platform are portrayed through the floor plan and to the finest details.
