  • ThirdWay Interiors has completed the design of the G2 Travel offices, a wholesale tour operator, located in London, England.

Working across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas, G2 Travel is a leading wholesale tour operator, specialising particularly in group trips for the B2B travel industry.

The company had moved into a new-build complex, consisting of seven individual shell and core units – a space that ThirdWay would turn into G2 Travel’s new ‘home’. The biggest challenge was to combine all units into one demise as the building wasn’t originally designed for this. Once the demolition was complete, ThirdWay’s design team could fully understand the base build and explore the combination of different ceiling and floor levels which would require working around.

The fact that this project was shell and core had perks. It meant that the team had the opportunity to design every single aspect of the space including M&E, making it truly bespoke to G2 Travel’s needs.

The entrance is an incredible double-height space. The client wanted to create a wow-factor here and ThirdWay’s team designed a unique mezzanine to maximise both space and impact. Situated on the mezzanine is a “collaboration area”, filled with high benches, booth and banquette seating – allowing employees to break away from their traditional fixed desk environment. Also on the mezzanine, a large, glazed boardroom overlooks the contemporary kitchen and breakout space which features oversized hanging pendant lights, a living moss wall and herringbone tiling.

The main office space is also split across two floors with angled timber slats creating a standout ceiling feature and defining key working areas. Lockable storage is provided through smart lockers, separate glazed c-suite offices provide privacy, whilst free-standing booths also offer quiet space for focus or small group meetings. A small gym provides a space for exercise and wellbeing and is not visible from the office area.

ThirdWay redesigned the staircase that connects the two office areas, rotating the bottom section and cladding it with a new balustrade and timber treads, allowing visibility across the 1st floor.
