CBRE Offices – Richardson
CBRE Design Collective designed an office with sophistication and industrial materials to showcase their work in Richardson, Texas.
CBRE’s objective was to create a dynamic free-address environment for its Richardson, Texas office that established a sense of equity between all employees. CBRE Design Collective was asked to create a space in which an executive could sit next to a new employee one day and conduct a high-level meeting the next. The idea of space was treated as a commodity that would be shared and experienced by all employees, while simultaneously celebrating employee diversity and brand identity.
To support a dynamic work environment that cultivates different points of view coming together, the design team created a showpiece public space (known as the Heart and Rise) at the entrance of the suite. These spaces were treated as destinations within the overall space plan. They feature a new communicating staircase that connects different departments across the main floors. The design fosters interaction between employees from different departments, backgrounds and experiences.
These spaces are strategically situated in the most advantageous location in the office, creating an opportunity for employees and guests to work, play and connect. It is here that brand and work-based activities comingle. Front and center, this space sets the stage for showcasing CBRE’s diverse workforce and technology-forward workstyles. And like this diverse work force, the space offers a variety of seating (to accommodate different postures), options for open or enclosed meeting spaces, a variety of healthy food and beverage options, and seamless technology that accommodates comfort and choice.
The team’s greatest motivating factor was the opportunity to create a space where individuals feel valued, appreciated and celebrated. A space that capitalizes on the unique perspectives of its employees. A space where the gap between differences is filled with collaboration, ideation and creativity. An office that not only celebrates diversity, but is also represents a 3-dimensional reflection of it.
