  • Unispace designed a branded experience for a confidential specialty retail company’s offices in New York City, New York.

This global retail brand was looking for a partner who could be agile, nimble, and collaborative to help them meet their workplace vision and goals. They needed to consolidate multiple locations into a smaller footprint, while supporting different disciplines and their respective functions in the office. This was especially difficult because all employee surveying was done during the height of the pandemic, and remotely.

From the onset of the project, we collaborated closely with the client and our internal teams to be lock-step throughout design, preconstruction, and construction phases of the project. Our integrated one team approach allowed us to remain flexible and meet their schedule while they were making scope changes under construction.

One of the primary goals of the client was to draw people back to the office by simultaneously providing everyone with their own space as well as access to creative and collaborative areas.

We used a neighborhood layout and an integrated staircase to create thoughtful pathways from workstations to open and closed meeting rooms, comfortable multipurpose areas and a design lab. Furniture and features replicate pieces you may find in your home and the color palette throughout the workspace reflects the client’s sophisticated, modern, and polished brand.

We delivered the client’s new 140,000 square-foot workplace on time and within budget, completing over 1,300 changes orders throughout the project and navigating hurtles with pandemic site shutdowns and other Covid-related restrictions. To stay on schedule, we coordinated with various vendors and created a custom progressive budgeting process to keep up with the change orders without affecting timelines.

The finished office combines the comforts of home with the creative ambiance of the physical environment into a branded space staff are excited to come into.
