Hengdian Group Offices – Hangzhou
iDA Workplace created a harmonious blend of art and office life for Hengdian Group's new headquarters building in Hangzhou, which includes integration of artworks throughout the space.
iDA Workplace devoted 4 years of meticulous care to designing the offices for Hengdian Group in Hangzhou, China.
Hengdian Group is an affiliates formation of more than 200 companies. As one of the leading local enterprises, its diversified business mostly covers electronics, pharmaceutics, healthcare, filming, cultural & tourism and general services. Located in Hangzhou, this new headquarters building houses employees from five listed companies and numerous subsidiaries and serves as the business pivot of Hengdian Group.
The new headquarters building is located in the core area of Hangzhou CBD. The twin tower consists of two individual 17-storey buildings. The building was designed by the renowned architect firm GMP, and iDA Workplace delivered the interior design services. From conceptual design to construction, the entire project took three years and seven months to complete. All the great efforts aimed for the best details.
Aesthetics and artistics are a unique pursuit of Hengdian Group. From daily dress code to the very pleasant ambient scent, high standard of aesthetic can be found in every corner of the office. The integration of artworks is the remarkable highlight of the more-than-unique experience of the office facility.
The digital sculpture placed on both sides of the lobby, “Hengdian Dreams” created for the Hengdian Group by artist Refik Anadol. The Sky Café on the 5th floor where the work of artist Zheng Lu’s well-known anti-gravity piece ‘Dripping’ being installed. Intended to transform the ‘shape’ of the space, the artwork looks as if the water drops are floating, makes a splash of fluid in the air. At the Sky Lounge on the 9th floor, you can find the artwork named ‘SKY’ created by the famous sculptor Li Zhen: “I try to find the spiritual space in the artworks, and I also want this spirituality to be combined with the art. Philosophy is important to my work. I hope that each piece of my work will enrich the life of the viewers”.
