Designsmith Interiors and Horton Interiors collaborated to create a bright and welcoming co-working space in Dubai, with a focus on community-building and providing a stimulating environment for women.
Designsmith Interiors and Horton Interiors collaborated to design the Bureau coworking offices as a bright and welcoming space in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Bureau designed by DesignSmith and fitted out by Horton interiors is a female focused, co-working space in Dubai’s Gold and Diamond Park with an emphasis on creating a community to support women personally and professionally. It is the first of its kind in the GCC, for sharing space, ambition and the collective energy of women. The mission for a highly productive co-working space that competes globally as the go-to destination – not only has fitness studio, a café and quiet rooms inside its premises but also focuses on community building space which allows for gatherings, community talks and more. The change of use from former shopping retail to co-working office will contribute to the reactivation of the area.
Indoor plants are added to give life and warmth to the interior. The café and the open seating provided next to the phone booth sections facilitates easy communication with the incoming members or guests. The mezzanine floor also holds offices with an open lounge seating that overlooks the entire space. It adds to the new dimension of internal circulation which becomes a key element. The material palette and the soft colors are intentionally chosen to make the area more welcoming and soothing. One of the interesting features is the glass tinted partitions in pastel gradient colors that encourages semi-privacy for each cabin. The concept was to create a stimulating environment, one that could produce a dynamic and interactive culture that is necessary to succeed in all the ever evolving industry for WOMEN.
