OKG Offices – Singapore
OSCA designed a playful and innovative space for the OKG offices in Singapore.
Drawing inspiration from Singapore-hosted Formula 1 street race, the office design concept features a racing McLaren car on a simulated road, symbolizing OKG as a rapidly growing company competing in the swift-paced corporate world. In response to the client’s request for the placement of the F1 car, the designer centred it as a key feature of the entire space. This decision seamlessly harmonized with the design concept, enriching the ambiance that captures the speed and agility of the OKG team.
Upon entering, the office immerses visitors in a dynamic street race atmosphere illuminated by neon lights, where hanging greenery abounds, and wall-mounted white meshes evoke urban vibrance. Purpose-built ‘grandstands’ not only offer a race view but also foster collaboration during breaks.
Another vital aspect of the design concept is a vibrant colour palette reflecting the diverse origins of the young OKG team. Each department finds its unique identity through designated colours. Given the collaborative work of various departments on the same projects, the entire 30,000 sqft space has evenly distributed productive corners to host various meeting spaces, quiet phone booths for online calls, and team working zones for quick internal discussions.
The layout prioritizes open breakout zones with a spacious pantry area that is adaptable to a town hall setup. This design choice provides versatility to the area, enabling event hosting or fostering internal team bonding whenever necessary. The objective of the OKG Team was to establish a space that encourages employees to come together and experience a sense of community. Additionally, the gaming room was strategically placed near the cafeteria area to meet the client’s need ensuring its usability for events and breaks alike.
In essence, through prioritizing OKG’s values and lifestyle, we have effectively merged functionality and dynamic fusion, resulting in an optimal solution that seamlessly aligns with their vision.
