Coworking culture is a rapidly growing global trend, and in Turkey, Plaza Cubes stands out as a leading firm with over a decade of experience. For the past five years, we at Normal have been collaborating with them, working on numerous projects encompassing thousands of square meters. However, the one we are currently undertaking holds a special place in our portfolio.

Situated in the iconic Ferko Building, right in the heart of Istanbul’s financial district in Levent, this project spans over 2,000 square meters across three floors, seamlessly connected by inner vertical passages. The space includes three spacious private offices and numerous medium-sized offices, all integrated into an open area equipped with all the amenities essential for a modern office environment.

One of the most challenging aspects of this project was cost management. It commenced amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, during a period of substantial inflation in the market. It posed a unique requirement for affordability and feasibility. As the project progressed, we encountered various hurdles, from sourcing materials in a volatile market to adapting to the shifting demands of remote work and social distancing requirements. These challenges pushed our team to showcase their resilience, adaptability, and commitment to delivering a space that not only met the client’s expectations but exceeded them.

Additionally, the project involved transforming a space that had previously served as an art gallery into a functional coworking office. We aimed to preserve the cleanliness and artistic ambiance while ensuring there was no compromise in terms of office functionality. This endeavor demanded innovative design solutions, creative use of space, and a deep understanding of the evolving needs of today’s workforce.
