The Post Office recently appointed workplace interior design specialists TSK to design and build their new office in London, England.
The Post Office team were keen for a fresh start in a new office that supported hybrid working and delivered an exceptional workplace experience. The goal was to balance size, strategy and sustainability, without compromising on atmosphere.
We mapped out their workplace rhythms and ran detailed engagement sessions with their internal teams and senior leaders to create a design that would embody the Post Office’s vision for the future. The data collected highlighted employees’ requirements for their new space, which included wellbeing, location and technology.
The new open-plan office features an oval shape design that reflects the Post Office brand and plays homage to the Norman Foster-designed curvature of the building. As a well-respected organisation with a rich history, the commitment to creating a company community doesn’t stop there, with artwork and AV features telling the Post Office’s story adding a decorative home-like feel throughout the space.
This bright, modern and exciting new space looks sleek and stylish, but it’s also multifunctional too, featuring a flexible social space, focused working areas, increased meeting room facilities and a studio for broadcasting company-wide meetings.
By introducing a booking app linked to sensor technology, employees can now easily plan their week, reserve facilities and synchronise their working patterns. These systems ensure that the space serves the varying number of visitors that may attend the office in any one day.
With an eye-catching kitchen, pools of natural light and a dedicated wellbeing zone, this is a space that puts the people first, providing a workplace experience to remember.
It’s a transformation that stretches beyond surface levels, the Post Office’s new HQ magnetises teams to come together, creating a culture of innovation and problem solving.
