This ambitious initiative aimed to navigate challenges posed by the pandemic, adapt to a new market scenario, and embrace a customer-oriented operating model.

    Designing the Future Workspace
With a focus on Architecture, Furniture Design, Concept, Project Management, Principal Design, Interior Architecture, and Workplace Development, Kohina played a pivotal role in crafting Tampereen Energia’s new office space strategy. The project sought to understand future space needs, optimize placement of units across campuses, and determine achievable savings and necessary investments.

Utilizing Kohina’s work environment development tools, the project delved into various scenarios, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of potential layouts. To attract potential tenants, high-quality marketing materials were meticulously prepared for available rental premises.

Hybrid Work Culture and Organizational Change
Central to the project was the creation of a Hybrid Work pocketbook by Kohina, establishing rules for hybrid work in line with the evolving needs of the organization. The integration of the building’s history and a fresh brand identity inspired the interior architecture, infusing a sense of continuity and modernity.

    Navigating Challenges and Unlocking Benefits
Tampereen Energia faced a dual challenge – significantly empty spaces across campuses amidst a pandemic and the need for a customer-centric operating model. The “Energy of Dreams” project navigated these challenges by cutting premises costs in half while renewing processes and prioritizing staff satisfaction.

Through Kohina’s space modeling and cost calculations, the organization identified areas needing improvement and those that could be relinquished. The introduction of high-quality marketing material increased the attractiveness of rental premises, aligning with the new office space strategy.

Simultaneously, a cultural shift was initiated, involving personnel in the process. Renovations in personnel facilities and a pilot facility project not only improved comfort but also enhanced the employer’s image.

    Transformation and Future Readiness
The “Energy of Dreams” project positioned Tampereen Energia as a more competitive and change-ready organization. The personnel’s adoption of new ideas and methods underscored the success of the initiative, showcasing the organization’s commitment to innovation, adaptability, and a future-ready workspace.

In summary, Tampereen Energia’s collaboration with Kohina has not only transformed its physical workspace but has also laid the foundation for a dynamic, hybrid work culture that aligns with the evolving needs of the organization and its workforce.
