Confidential Tech Innovation Center – Santa Clara
AP+I Design transformed a global tech company’s Silicon Valley location into an innovation center and demo space by creating a welcoming, collaborative environment with pops of color and strategic lighting.
This global tech company had a need for an innovation center and customer demo/experience center in Silicon Valley. Their current location hadn’t been designed for this, so the users had been rearranging furniture in ad-hoc attempts to serve this specialized activity. Their vision in beginning this project was to create a new space that met their needs and enhanced experience for both customers and employees alike.
Before beginning design, we focused on an extensive visioning session with our client to hear about their vision and customer/sales process. We learned that the priority was crafting a welcoming and collaborative experience for their clients while fostering employee connection and innovation. One initial challenge was a single entry to the suite, a combined path for both staff and guests as they arrived and experienced the space.
Crafting a welcoming experience starts in their new lobby, where arrivals are greeted with warm finishes, greenery, and pops of color in a softly branded space. A custom curved line light fixture and a color gradient curved wall usher movement through the space, guiding the arrival experience to the customer experience and demo space. Here, clients and employees collaborate to progress technology into the future.
Fostering connection and innovation among employees continues in the open office. Providing pops of color and statement light fixtures in key activity areas while keeping other finishes and light fixtures neutral and refined allows for this client’s ideal balance of collaboration and concentration.
Throughout the gathering space is focused against the windows, highlighting, and framing the incredible and unique views of the nearby football stadium and the hills beyond, resulting in a compelling and dynamic space to experience for staff and guests alike.
