Shimadzu Offices – Beijing
Okamura collaborated with SHIMADZU in Beijing to design a cohesive space embodying Earth’s nature, humanity, and science principles, with Activity-Based and Team-Based Working concepts promoting innovation.
OKAMURA has a long-standing collaboration with SHIMADZU, providing furniture supply, space planning, customer made furniture and overall solutions.
The aim is to promote the SHIMADZU brand and ensure cohesive design across various locations like Shanghai and Guangzhou.
The design embodies the company’s mission of contributing to society through scientific technology and its corporate philosophy of realizing desires for human and environmental health, which can be personally experienced through meticulous craftsmanship.
The concept for this renovation is the fusion of Earth’s nature, humanity, and science, creating a creative space that embraces gentleness towards both people and nature within its innovation.
In this office transformation project, we have introduced the concept of ABW (Activity Based Working), allowing individuals to choose their work environment based on tasks and objectives for the day, fostering self-discipline among employees.
Besides cultivating personal growth and improving productivity, there is also an aspect called TBW (Team Based Working).
By involving others in one’s work process and allowing them to witness individual achievements firsthand, it encourages innovation through collaborative working methods known as Go OFFICE=discussion & cooperation.
