NHQ designed a vibrant and dynamic office space for a confidential client in the insurance sector, located in London, featuring clean and sophisticated finishes, contemporary furniture and a show-stopping staircase.
Completed in early 2021, the space was designed for the future and provides a transformative workplace experience where staff feel comfortable and connected.
Gathering the data on staff occupancy and ways-of-working enabled the design team at NHQ to commit the 7000sqft 1st floor area to the broker lounge and meeting room suite while the balance of space on the 2nd floor is dedicated to open desking, hot offices, touchdown booths, a library and a large breakout area to accommodate fifty people. Entering the space via the main reception area, the reception desk sweeps you into the space and reflects the shape of the atrium and the building radii.
Understated finishes create a clean and sophisticated look while the lighting celebrates and enhances the feature mullions. The primary desking areas are contemporary and on brand with optional sit-stand desks and ergonomic seating creating a clean, flexible and modern working environment. Directional fabrics have been used on the desk screens to inject some colour and energy into the space. Accessing the broker lounge via a newly designed and installed architectural staircase, a suite of acoustic booths provides a backdrop to the stairs and additional flexible meeting spaces. Halo lighting has been repeated from the reception linking the two floors together and providing design consistency across the space. Warm timber flooring creates a functional and cytological break from the reception and an atmosphere conducive to quiet and focused work. The breakout area is deliberately spacious and includes a range of different furniture types to give everyone choice about how they use the space. Partitioning in the breakout mimics the partitioning in the client suite to allow the free flow of natural light and a tree has been included to add a biophilic element and to diffuse sound.
The space is flexible and futureproof and provides a clean, contemporary, premium-quality aesthetic that portrays our client’s brand and identity.
