PMG Group redesigned a workspace for a non-profit, uniting departments, enhancing collaboration, and productivity through bespoke strategy and neighbourhood-based design, consolidating locations into two sites.
PMG was appointed as the workplace strategy partner for this not-for-profit client following a competitive tender process. After conducting a comprehensive property portfolio assessment, they collaborated closely with the executive leadership team to navigate the complex challenges of new working methods, consolidation, and co-location.
A bespoke workplace strategy, grounded in the client’s core values, was developed with the goals of uniting dispersed departments, fostering collaboration, reducing space inefficiencies, and enhancing productivity and teamwork. This strategy led to the consolidation of multiple locations into two new sites: a new head office and a separate service hub, with concurrent design and delivery of both sites and relocation assistance.
The design across both sites employs a ‘neighbourhood’ approach to planning, ensuring seamless transitions between departments. This approach balances vibrant collaborative spaces with work areas tailored to team preferences. Each neighbourhood offers a variety of settings, including individual, collaborative, social, meeting, and support spaces. Clear views across the workspace promote a sense of unity and connectivity among employees, with track walkways guiding individuals through the building. The incorporation of curves in the walls adds a touch of creativity, breaking away from traditional angular designs.
The service delivery hub, an integral part of the consolidation, prioritises functionality and wellbeing while fostering community engagement. This facility embodies the client’s commitment to providing comprehensive services in a welcoming and productive environment for both staff and clients. The building also includes on-site education and training facilities, consolidating multiple sites into a single service delivery hub. This integration streamlines operations and enhances overall efficiency in training processes, ensuring the client can continue to provide top-tier services to their community.
