Wool+Hay designed the New Forest project in Sydney by integrating sustainability with elegant design, emphasizing open access and panoramic views, incorporating local materials, and enhancing visitor experience through curated artwork and audio installations.
New Forest’s latest site is situated high above North Sydney, boasting stunning panoramic views. Our meticulous planning approach maintained open access and visibility across the floor to preserve these breathtaking vistas. The design seamlessly transitions from formal to casual spaces, creating a harmonious flow. Embracing a multi-pronged sustainability approach, each design element was carefully chosen to minimise excessive use of products and materials, with particular attention to flooring and ceiling features. Local timbers form a versatile backdrop to the reception area, effectively managing sight lines and providing subtle nods to the surrounding landscape. Furthermore, the journey through the space was thoughtfully curated, with an immersive artwork and audio installation enhancing the experience as visitors transition into the client meeting spaces. Overall, our design encapsulates the essence of the location, seamlessly integrating sustainability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. The space reflects our commitment to both environmental responsibility and creating an engaging, welcoming environment for all who experience it.
