Confidential Technology Company Offices – Bangkok
Paperspace Asia integrated local elements like the Chao Praya river into the office design for a technology client, symbolizing Bangkok’s history and environment through intricate details and color schemes.
As one of the largest tech firms in the world, Paperspace’s Confidential Tech Company client vows to establish a unique office in every part of the world – incorporating local elements and cultures to assimilate themselves into the country. Their Bangkok office embraces the city’s history and surrounding environment – notably being inspired by the Chao Praya river, the city’s river of life.
Adding in local elements to the workplace needs to be more than just simple graphic additions to the wall or cheekily named offices. With the Chao Praya river serving as inspiration, we wanted to literally bring the river of life into the office. This way, employees would be able to bring with them a slice of Bangkok wherever they go.
This is experienced the best through the reception area, with the light strips on the ceiling serving as a direct representation of the river. Keen-eyed visitors will also notice that the ceiling itself is a miniature recreation of Bangkok city, meticulously handcrafted to bring the entirety of Bangkok into the office space. It’s a genuine effort by the company to integrate itself into the city itself – and this physical representation will always serve as a reminder.
The workplace’s design is meant to reflect the river’s journey from old Bangkok to current Bangkok, and exiting through its outskirts and ports. Each section of the office comes with its own colour scheme that channels the variety of Bangkok’s districts and elements, such as:
Orange – Outskirts and villages
Red – Chinatown
Green – Greenery, parks, and forests
Blue – Ports
