  • Knauf’s new headquarters in Cairo Festival City is far from a conventional office—it’s a fully immersive showroom designed to embody the brand’s identity and showcase its material innovation in real time.

Conceived by Échelle Architects, the space is a live demonstration of Knauf’s capabilities across ceiling systems, gypsum board applications, and acoustic solutions. Inspired by the motto “Build on us,” the design invites visitors and employees alike to experience the potential of Knauf’s materials firsthand.

A core design challenge—and opportunity—was to integrate Knauf’s own ceiling and acoustic material solutions into the space in a way that inspires. Hera Design acoustic panels take center stage, reimagined as floating ceiling elements and wall cladding. In a bold reinterpretation, these panels were sculpted into puzzle-shaped forms for walls and wave-like patterns overhead, turning functional products into statement design features.

Daylight was another key design driver. The open-plan layout was carefully planned to draw in natural light while maintaining acoustic comfort through suspended panel systems—providing a compelling answer to the challenge of semi-exposed ceiling acoustical performance.

The result is a workspace that functions as a live demonstration of Knauf’s capabilities—a space where architecture, materiality, and brand narrative converge to create an immersive design experience for employees and visitors alike.

This office redefines what a workspace can be. It’s not just where Knauf works—it’s where their products perform, inspire, and come to life.
