  • Year 2024
  • Location United Kingdom, London, England,
  • Industry Financial / Investments,
  • Following our successful refurbishment of their St James’s office two years ago, this respected global private equity firm engaged us to deliver their new 27,000 sq ft UK headquarters at the eastern boundary of London’s Mayfair. This relocation marked a significant step for the client, requiring an expanded, multi-functional workspace alongside a front-of-house experience that reflected their status and supported prestigious client relationships. Delivering these objectives presented challenges, particularly ensuring a seamless transition while the client operated temporarily from serviced offices. Detailed planning, strategic foresight, and close coordination were essential to achieving a smooth move into their eagerly anticipated new headquarters.

Our deep understanding of the client’s business and culture provided a strong foundation for the project. The aim was to evolve the design principles we had established in their previous office into a new environment that retained the warmth, quality, and ambience they valued while accommodating their growing team and the need for increased flexibility. We maintained continuous communication and structured decision-making meetings, ensuring alignment throughout the programme.

The design carefully considered the journey from the elevators to reception via a bridge walkway spanning a full-height atrium, balancing corporate presence with the working needs of employees. Warm timber finishes, soft lighting, and a palette of cool blues and textured greys create a welcoming, professional first impression. The workspace includes 40 private offices and open-plan desking for 110 people, alongside support spaces such as meeting rooms, an IT help desk, and a wellbeing room, all designed to enhance efficiency, comfort, and effortless collaboration.

A key highlight is the client suite, featuring the listed Bridge Room spanning a bustling thoroughfare on Mayfair’s Soho border. This suite can host up to seven meetings and events simultaneously, with five meeting rooms surrounding the main area constructed with an intricately engineered folding wall system. Comprising 33 glazed and fabric-clad panels, this bespoke solution enables seamless reconfiguration into a single large or multiple smaller event spaces as needed, maintaining both structural integrity and acoustic performance.

The front-of-house areas deliver a refined, welcoming visitor experience, while the workspace itself combines bookable private offices, sit-stand desking, and internal meeting spaces to support both focused and collaborative work. A staff breakout area was also designed to enable informal interactions or quiet retreat, creating a well-balanced working environment.

With careful consideration of budget and sustainability, the fit out integrates new, repurposed, and existing furniture. Despite inevitable challenges, the outcome is a seamless, sophisticated headquarters that reflects the client’s standing while delivering the functionality, adaptability, and quality to support their continued growth and success.
