RWE Offices – Austin
Abel Design Group’s RWE offices in Austin showcase innovative biophilic design and sustainable materials, featuring a striking curved floating staircase that fosters collaboration and productivity in a flexible workspace.
The 57,294-square-foot Austin office for RWE Clean Energy reflects the company’s values of innovation, sustainability, and flexibility. Located in the Centro mixed-use development, the space features biophilic design, curved architectural elements, and natural materials to promote collaboration, well-being, and productivity. Key design elements include custom millwork, soft wood finishes, and a striking floating staircase, all crafted with precision by ROOMI Group.
One of the most notable achievements was the execution of the curved floating staircase, which took over 15,000 man-hours to construct using layers of MDF and American White Oak veneer. The space also meets post-pandemic needs by offering a mix of collaborative zones, private work nooks, and communal lounges to support a variety of work styles. Through thoughtful design and close coordination with ROOMI Group and Harvey Cleary Builders, the result is a workplace that sets a new standard for sustainable office design in the renewable energy sector.
