MAN Group Offices – Sofia
MoVe Architects designed the MAN Group offices in Sofia, blending contemporary corporate aesthetics with local Bulgarian cultural elements to create a flexible, community-focused workspace that enhances productivity and brand identity.
The new MAN Group office in Sofia is a 1,500 sqm workplace designed to reflect the brand’s global identity while subtly embedding local cultural references. Developed and delivered by MoVe Architects within a six-month timeframe, the project combines interior design and full project management into a cohesive, efficiently executed workspace.
The design concept is rooted in MAN Group’s corporate brand guidelines—clear geometry, structured layouts, restrained material palette, and a strong emphasis on functionality. These principles provided a solid framework, allowing the design team to focus on precision, consistency, and long-term usability. At the same time, the project intentionally introduces contextual elements inspired by traditional Bulgarian culture, interpreted in a contemporary and understated way.
Natural materials, textured surfaces, and pattern-based compositions reference local crafts and folklore without becoming literal or decorative. Graphic motifs, acoustic panels, and selected finishes subtly echo Bulgarian textile patterns and rhythm, adding warmth and identity while remaining fully aligned with the corporate environment. These “cultural touches” act as moments of discovery rather than dominant features, enriching the space without disrupting the brand language.
The spatial organization supports a modern hybrid work model. Open-plan work areas are balanced with enclosed meeting rooms, phone booths, and focused work pods, ensuring flexibility across different working styles. Informal collaboration zones, social spaces, and a centrally positioned kitchen area encourage interaction and community, while maintaining clear zoning and acoustic comfort.
Meeting rooms are designed with strong visual clarity and technical efficiency, integrating acoustic solutions, lighting scenarios, and audiovisual systems seamlessly into the architecture. The design language remains calm and functional, supporting productivity rather than competing for attention.
From a project management perspective, the key challenge was delivering a high-quality, brand-compliant workspace within a tight six-month schedule. MoVe Architects managed the process end-to-end, coordinating design development, contractor interfaces, cost control, and on-site execution. Close collaboration with the client, consultants, and suppliers allowed for fast decision-making and precise implementation, minimizing risks and delays.
Special attention was given to detailing, material transitions, and execution quality—elements that often define the long-term perception of a workplace. Lighting, acoustics, and custom joinery were carefully coordinated to ensure consistency across the entire office environment.
The result is a contemporary corporate office that feels both international and local: a space that reflects MAN Group’s global standards while acknowledging its presence in Sofia. The project demonstrates how strong brand guidelines and local cultural context can coexist, creating a workplace that is efficient, recognizable, and human-centered.
