  • arbor+co was asked to complete the design of the IDP Connect offices, an educational guidance company, located in London, England.

    Our client IDP Connect is a division of IDP Education, global leaders in student marketing and recruitment.

    Working with institutions as true partners, IDP Connect understands institutions needs and enhances their capabilities with the transformative power of data, insights and engaged student communities.

    As a fast-growing company, IDP’s current London office had been untouched for over two decades and wasn’t meeting their employee requirements. Studio re-purposed the space to make it multifunctional, contemporary and agile.

    After conducting an internal office survey, the staff reported that they were feeling uninspired by the current space. Therefore we aimed to create a space that employees would enjoy, while it is also multifunctional and inviting.

    The open-plan working floor was restructured and redesigned, reducing 20 permanents desks to create two agile and hot-desking areas. The concept allowed the client to shift to a new working method, allowing more staff to use hot-desking option and Agile meeting corners.

    We demolished the two small meeting rooms and relocated them, using glass instead of plaster wall to create a more transparent atmosphere.

    Previously having a small kitchen corner only, we have created a large capacity kitchen and dining area, overlooking at the 12 metres long natural green wall.

    Following the biophilic approach, finishes, textures and composition were carefully thought through, and soft velvet materials, timber and moss walls, and textured furniture were all incorporated into the design.

    We’ve also introduced a smart booking office system, using the latest technology to book the new meeting rooms, boardroom and 1×1 meeting corners, helping the employees to schedule and reserve spaces days and even weeks in advance.

    During a global pandemic, team have created a creative working environment that is inspiring and allows the company to adopt the latest government guidance on social distancing without the requirement of significant changes.
