  • Unispace designed the BNZ 80 Queen Street offices with a focus on collaboration and teamwork in Auckland, New Zealand.

BNZ has transformed its Auckland Head Office into an agile workplace that the Partners and Journey Team can enjoy for years to come. The refresh of Level 5 was an opportunity to enhance and align the new bank identity and to transform ways of working. The vision for the new space was an agile, future-proofed work floor for ongoing adaption and change.

By embracing BNZ’s change and growth, the new space reimagines their ways of working as a forward-thinking bank through designed spaces and joinery that encourages movement and flexibility to meet the needs of each person, team, and task.

All aspects of the project have been considered and designed to align with a building-wide master plan in mind to ensure the investment is fit for purpose, now and in the future framework. The challenge was how we approached the design of the work floor to enable a dynamic new agile way of working involving Kanban boards and scrum settings.

The key spaces on the floor were designed specifically to represent and respect the local and historical context, and flavour of Auckland. From the open flexible civic spaces, with its large, shared collaboration space and tiered seating, to the intimate laneway locker banks, and the city transit hub lift lobby.

The result is a refined, warm, and welcoming working agile floor that caters to both collaborative and focused experiences for BNZ staff and their visitors.
