CBRE Offices – Eindhoven
CBRE Design Collective’s Eindhoven offices harmoniously blend the city’s industrial heritage with contemporary design, creating a dynamic workspace that fosters collaboration while celebrating Eindhoven’s vibrant identity and innovation.
In the heart of Eindhoven, CBRE has unveiled a regional office that’s deeply connected to the city’s vibrant identity. Our goal was to create a space that reflects Eindhoven’s unique character, blending its rich history with its forward-thinking spirit. Through co-creation sessions, we discovered the essence of Eindhoven: technology, design, and knowledge.
We delved into Eindhoven ‘back in the days,’ known for its industrial era. In Eindhoven, many velvety fabrics called ‘trijp’ were produced. These organic-patterned velvets were frequently used in interiors during the Art Nouveau period. We incorporated the distinctive design elements of Art Nouveau, such as curves, arches, and subtly glossy surfaces. We combined these ‘Eindhoven back in the days’ characteristics with those of “Eindhoven nowadays,” which is more reflective of technology, design, and knowledge.
The “Eindhoven Nowadays” is reflected in the furniture that we have used, which is from local Dutch designers. Not to miss is the colorful installation that was designed in close collaboration with Envisions; the vibrant colors of the panels reflect the character of different buildings and traditions within Eindhoven. It creates a space that can be used in different setups, like a town hall, a small meeting room, or a cozy lounge area.
The ‘Eindhoven nowadays’ can also be seen in the foundation of the building, such as the concrete walls and floors. To maximize flexibility and preserve the climate ceiling, minimal walls were installed, and box-in-box meeting rooms were utilized.
The box-in-box rooms are placed as a natural divider in between the collaboration area and the work zone, a functional and dynamic corridor that activates the social connections within the office.
The result is a dynamic workspace that embodies the best of both worlds. The design embraces the essence of Eindhoven, combining its industrial heritage with its innovative drive. It’s a space where collaboration thrives, creativity flourishes, and the spirit of Eindhoven is always present.
