International Manufacturing Company Headquarters – Montreal
Lemay’s design for the Montreal headquarters of an international manufacturing company prioritizes employee well-being and inclusivity by balancing open and enclosed spaces, incorporating company culture, and offering flexible work modes in a light-filled environment.
The new Montreal headquarters of this Quebec-based manufacturing company marks a significant shift in its organizational structure, establishing a 40,000-square-foot workplace independent from its processing plant for the first time. Located downtown, the space is defined by abundant natural light and a design approach that translates the company’s culture, values, and close-knit identity into the built environment.
Conceived as a “home away from home,” the workplace prioritizes employee well-being while reinforcing the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The layout carefully balances open and enclosed spaces, supporting both collaborative engagement and individual focus. Throughout the office, the integration of the company’s colours into distinct spatial typologies contributes to a cohesive and legible environment.
A range of flexible and modular spaces accommodates evolving workplace needs. Areas dedicated to training sessions and group gatherings are positioned alongside more intimate settings, including a bistro café, a staff lounge, unassigned workstations for visitors, and meeting rooms of varying sizes. Together, these elements support a wide spectrum of work styles and interactions.
Key features such as a heritage wall and an executive conference room further anchor the workplace in the company’s identity, expressed through refined detailing and high-quality finishes.
From concept to completion, the project is guided by a consistent focus on quality and coherence, resulting in a workplace that reflects the company’s values while responding to the diverse needs and practices of its users.
