  • A new Financial Services head office, designed by Omicron Interiors is located at Vancouver Centre II, Vancouver BC, Canada. Omicron created a design concept of a “timeless timepiece,” to blend sophistication, practicality and adaptability for the client. This vision creating a workspace that reflects both tradition and forward-thinking flexibility and was represented through repetition, constancy, rhythm and radial forms. The space reflected the client’s commitment to preserving a traditional office layout, prioritizing privacy and focused workspaces, while ensuring a boutique experience for their clients. Omicron incorporated client-facing areas with standout features such as the wall-sized built-in clock, and high-contrast millwork and backsplashes, which work seamlessly with the private office spaces beyond. The concept also supported the use of mixed metals and quality materials that feel comforting and long-standing. By encouraging the client to prioritize staff spaces as well, Omicron was able to space plan the large lunchroom and lounge to boast the best views of the city for all. This space again balanced elegance and practicality and quickly became the client’s favorite space post move-in.

Acoustic privacy was emboldened with the use of DIRTT modular walls throughout. The Giacomini ceiling grid (supplied by base building) enhanced air quality and thermal comfort for employees and provided a systematic 5’ x 5’ grid to align all walls, lights, sprinklers, etc. to. This grid base meant the modular walls were designed to minimize their kit of parts for maximal adaptability in the future.

Initiated at the height of the pandemic, the project anticipated a return to concentrated, in-office work. The final layout, featuring enclosed private offices with glass fronts for shared daylight, proved highly successful, satisfying the client’s operational needs while allowing for long-term flexibility. This future-ready approach positions this Financial Services Company to navigate the evolving workplace landscape with confidence, balancing privacy, adaptability, and timeless design.
