Seven stools we’ve recently found
While not intended for the most relaxed version of sitting, stools serve a mighty purpose in the workplace. They offer seating for quick and informal meeting points, pantry and kitchen areas, casual work lounge settings, and so much more. They provide flexibility when you need an extra seat and enhance the overall look and feel of an office space.
As we near the milestone of identifying 400 different stools, barstools, counter stools, and low stools in project photos on Office Snapshots, we wanted to share some of our favorite picks. While these aren’t necessarily new, here are seven we’ve only recently identified for the first time.
Enjoy!
Casala – Dotti Stool
Recently found in the Covestro Headquarters in Leverkusen, Dotti is a compact stool offered in three heights for every imaginable workplace setting. Dotti stands for simplicity, quality and comfort.
Prostoria – Monk Barstool
As seen in PepsiCo’s Warsaw offices, Prostoria’s Monk Barstool provides an alternative to wooden legs with its unique metal structure and base. A sleek, yet traditional appeal for the modern office landscape.
Fredericia – Spine Stool
The Spine Stool from Fredericia provides both classic and unorthodox design details. Spotted in the RegioBank offices in Solothurn, the stool has a straight seat paired with the openness and social invitation of a traditional barstool.
Andreu World – Hula Stool
We recently identified Andreu World’s Hula Stool in EY’s Amsterdam office. Well-balanced with careful attention to symmetry between the seat, the base and its footrest, the Hula Stool is both iconic and functional.
DesignByThem – Piper Bar Chair
DesignByThem’s Piper Bar Chair was found in Archway Commercial Interiors’ office in Brisbane. Designed with indoor quality but outdoor durability, creating a range that is visually light, distinctive and versatile.
Magnus Oleson – Butterfly Bar Chair
As seen in the Kering Headquarters project in Wayne, the Butterfly Bar Chair by Magnus Oleson ensures a high degree of seating comfort. A beautiful chair in moulded veneer with lumbar support and flexibility in the back.
