Twelve task chairs for the sitting worker

As the Office Snapshots team roamed the halls (and climbed the stairs) of Chicago’s Merchandise Mart this past June at NeoCon, we posed the question, “How many chairs exist in the world?”

1 billion? 2 billion? Are there more chairs than people?

While we ultimately could not answer that question, we realized we could answer, “What are the most commonly identified task chairs seen on Office Snapshots?”

The answer is as follows and it is no surprise the list is made up of task chairs from Herman Miller, Haworth, Steelcase, Knoll and Humanscale.

#12 Humanscale – Liberty Task

The Liberty Task has been spotted in offices like Gensler Birmingham, RMW and Newsday. With a minimal aesthetic that complements any space, the Liberty chair is the ideal seating solution for the modern work environment.
